This is Ana Šostar, passionate and dedicated

The Pianist live in Europe, Town Našice.

Ana Šostar is a Croatian pianist dedicated to crafting immersive atmospheres, evoking deep motions, and weaving captivating narratives through her playing. She has performed in many European countries, with notable recitals at the Palace of Arts in Budapest, the Academy of Music in Zagreb, the XXIX. Memorial of Dora Pejačević, the Church of St. Catherine in Grude, and performances at the Liszt Academy of Music and Liszt Museum.

Ana began her musical education at the Kontesa Dora Primary School of Music in her hometown, Našice, where she learned piano and the Croatian national instrument, the tamburitza. Choosing the piano as her main instrument, during her high school education, she also took cello and composition lessons. Ana graduated from the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb, in 2022, under the guidance of Professor Filip Fak. In 2021, she enrolled as a student at the prominent Liszt Academy in Budapest, where she learns from distinguished pianists Sándor Falvai, Gábor Farkas, Balázs Fülei, and Dráfi Kalman.

Growing up, Ana was surrounded by the tunes of Russian melodies played by her grandmother, an amateur pianist. This early exposure sparked a deep love for Russian music heritage within her, eading her on a journey to discover and perform Sergei Lyapunov’s forgotten piano concerto. At the international festival in Kostroma, Russia in July 2018, Ana unveiled this hidden gem to a receptive Russian audience, with conductor Pavel Gerstein and the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra.

Ana’s devotion to Russian music is evident in her concert-project “Hommage a Rachmaninov & Pejačević,” which she presented in Croatia, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hailing from Našice, the city where Dora Pejačević, the first Croatian female composer, lived and composed, Ana feels a personal connection to her works, regularly featuring them in her performances.

Ana remains committed to her artistic growth, continually refining her skills through masterclasses with esteemed pianists such as Eugen Indjic, Alexander Romanovsky, Konstantin Krasnitsky, Đuro Tikvica, Đorđe Stanetti, Jean-François Antonioli, Kemal Gekic, Igor Laszko. She participated in the International Musik Akademie Anton Rubinstein, where she worked with Gnessin Russian Academy of Music Professor Tatiana Zelikmann. Ana also participated and performed at international festivals such as “Hugo Staehle” (Kassel, Germany), “Clavis” (St. Petersburg, Russia), “Piano Loop” (Split, Croatia), “Livorno Music Festival” (Livorno, Italy), “Music on the Stone” (Grude, Bosnia and Herzegovina), “Echo Summer Academy” (Fehévárcsurgó, Hungary), “Ardea” (Čapljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina).
