Ana Šostar is a Croatian pianist based in Budapest. Significant moments in her career include recital at the Glass Hall of the Palace of Arts (Budapest, Hungary), a recital on the 29th Memorial of Dora Pejačević (Našice, Croatia) commemorating the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death, recital as part of The Night of Music project organized by the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and performance at the international festival in Kostroma (Russia) where she played Sergei Lyapunov’s First Piano Concerto with the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra.

She began her musical education at the Kontesa Dora Elementary Music School in Našice, playing both piano and tamburitza a Croatian folk instrument. After choosing piano as her main instrument in high school, she also took cello and composition lessons. Under the mentorship of Croatian composer Davor Bobić, she won first prize for her own composition at the „Europe in School” competition.

Ana graduated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb in 2022, where she studied with Professor Filip Fak. During her studies in Zagreb, she discovered an affinity for collaborating with singers, and refined her skills under the instruction of Dunja Vejzović, Alexei Tanovitski and Eva Kirchmayer Bilić. This resulted in collaborations with Croatian mezzo-soprano Emilia Rukavina, Slovenian tenor Matic Zakonjšek, and American tenor James Dalton Caran. The final year of her studies she spent at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest as an Erasmus+ scholarship recipient. After completing her studies in Zagreb, she continued studying at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest as a full-time student, in the classes of Sándor Falvai, Gábor Farkas, Balázs Fülei and Kálmán Dráfi.

She has performed in many European countries including Croatia, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Italy, Montenegro, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She played in venues such as the Academy of Music in Zagreb’s Blagoje Bersa hall, Svetislav Stančić hall and Vaclav Huml hall; the Liszt Academy and Liszt Museum in Budapest, Croatian National Theatre in Osijek, Croatian Lodge “Herceg Stjepan Kosača” in Mostar, Musikhochschule in Münster, Croatian Music Institute in Zagreb, the Great hall of Kostroma Philharmonic, Castle Pejačević in Našice.

Dedicated to her artistic growth, Ana continuously refines her skills through masterclasses with Eugen Indjic, Alexander Romanovsky, Konstantin Krasnitsky, Đuro Tikvica, Đorđe Stanetti, Jean-François Antonioli, and Kemal Gekić. At the Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy in Berlin, she studied with Professor Tatiana Zelikmann from the Gnessin Academy of Music. Ana Šostar had been a guest performer at international festivals “Music on the Stone” (Grude, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and “Ardea” (Čapljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina). She participated and performed also at festivals “Hugo Staehle” (Kassel, Germany), “Clavis” (St. Petersburg, Russia), “Piano Loop” (Split, Croatia), “Livorno Music Festival” (Livorno, Italy), “Echo Summer Academy” (Fehérvárcsurgó, Hungary).
