Ana Šostar is a Croatian pianist based in Budapest. Significant moments in her career include recital at the Glass Hall of the Palace of Arts (Budapest, Hungary), a recital on the 29th Memorial of Dora Pejačević (Našice, Croatia) commemorating the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death, recital as part of The Night of Music project organized by the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and performance at the international festival in Kostroma (Russia) where she played Sergei Lyapunov’s First Piano Concerto with the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra.
She began her musical education at the Kontesa Dora Elementary Music School in Našice, playing both piano and tamburitza a Croatian folk instrument. After choosing piano as her main instrument in high school, she also took cello and composition lessons. Under the mentorship of Croatian composer Davor Bobić, she won first prize for her own composition at the „Europe in School” competition.
